Arab Weddings, Part 2

Ok.... so here comes the Bride! Some food is still on the table, in fact some people are still eating or snacking, people are up visiting friends, the children are running around everywhere.... and ..... in comes the bride! Much like an American wedding, she enters from the back of the room, wearing a gorgeous white fancy dress, tons and tons of make-up on (my make-up wasn't even half what the bride wears!).... however she is alone!!! That is right, she does the walk all by herself, no men in sight! She walks down this long carpet to the front of the room. The bride walk is one of my favorite parts of the wedding, because as she is walking down (really slow I might add), the women (mostly the older women) are doing what I call "hooting and hollering"! Much like what a man does when he sees a pretty lady walk by, haha! In front of the bride is usually the photographer or the person filming the wedding, no candid stuff just walking and filming right in front of the bride. At this wedding I didn't see anyone with cameras, but I have seen where friends and family are walking beside the bride taking pictures and videos with their mobiles, can you imagine!!!! At this wedding, while the bride was walking down the aisle a bunch of women were lined up along the carpet and would shoot up lots of confetti into the air, it was quite explosive!!!! Ok.... so the bride is still walking to the front of the room.... to the groom right!!! Nope, no groom there, she is walking to her throne!!! At the front of the stage she does a little "cat" walk, poses for a bunch of pictures (which her mom and the mom of the groom is up there showing her which way to go next), then she takes a seat on her beautiful, fairy tale throne. At this time close friends and family will go and greet the bride!!!

Alright, so there you have it! The Bride has arrived!!!! You will have to come back later..... there will be a groom involved somewhere along the line... I think!!!

Sounds like she is definitely 'Queen for a Day'. What an experience!
Love you,
